Why do you hate Donald Trump so much?

This one, potentially, could have been my shortest blog E.V.E.R. Everything above this paragraph is the entire blog right there!

A colleague at work asked me the title question and it got me thinking. I realized that I really don’t hate the Donald. I detest incompetence. For me it is like the Nature Abhors a Vacuum (Horror Vacui) statement of yonder years by Aristotle. Incompetence fundamentally needs weeding out.

Whatever we do, competence needs to be front and center. No matter what activity. Even breaking “rules”. The maverick in me is totally ok to break rules if you are competent enough to get away with it! You get caught, incompetence!

I don’t care if you lie! Be so competent at it that people should always wonder, is THIS a lie or is THIS the truth? If you get caught in a lie, incompetence!

Soon though, one realizes that it is so much more work to be competent at activities that do not support basic human values. Lying, for example, is not human values supporting and it takes supreme effort to be competent at it! Same with taking shortcuts and breaking rules. Supreme effort is needed. And in the end, we will run out of effort and get caught. Incompetence.

On the other hand, human values supporting activities don’t need too much effort to be competent at. Helping others. Being truthful. Leaving your space in a better shape than you found it. You get the drift.

In the end, it boils down to competence. Period.

Now lets look at the Donald’s activities viewed through the lense of competence. He’s a total failure! No matter how you cut it. Bigly looser! He can’t hold a lie. Heck, he can’t hold a truth either! He can’t focus on anything that requires even a semblance of intelligence. And he’s not even competent to surround himself with people who can cover for him! Totally Incompetent!

People tell me that the Donald is so successful in his business ventures. Really? He would have made more money simply parking his inheritance in a bank than he made actually doing business!! Incompetent.

Look at his actions on Environmental Regulations! Our kids or grandkids will ask us this one question,

“How come you elected a chap and then let him run our Environment into the ground and left a big mess for us to clean up?”

If you only answer is that, well, the alternate was Hillary then we all are losers. Bigly ones at that. I get it. We did not have great choices this past general election. It was a choice between bad and worse!

But to keep enabling this demonstrably incompetent person to keep making things worse? That is our incompetence!! We own that.

Oh but wait. Maybe our kids or grandkids will not ask us the above question! They would not have the training for critical evaluation of ANYTHING because, well, Mr. Incompetent put Ms. Incompetent (Betsy DeVos) in charge of Education!! That is the master stroke and shame on us for enabling it! This too is totally on us. Incompetent.

“God Bless America” did not have a truer ring to it than now.
