There is a famous song from what I call a “classic” Indian movie Do Aur Do Paanch (Two and Two make Five):
Tune mujhe dekha nahi _____(You have not seen me)
Dekha hai to jaana nahi ____(You may have seen me but you do not know me)
Mujhe pehechana nahi _____(You have not recognized me)
Duniya deewaani meri _____(The world is crazy about me)
Mere peeche peeche bhaagi __(It follows me around)
Kisi mein hain dum yahan __(If anyone has guts here)
Theher ja mere aage _______(Come stand in front of me)
Mere aage aana nahi ______(Don’t block my way)
Dekho takraana nahi ______(Don’t get in my way)
Kisi se bhi haare nahi hum! _(I have not lost to anyone!)
Jo soche, jo chahe, woh karke dikha de
Hum woh hein jo do aur do paanch bana de
(Whatever I think, whatever I want, I will make it happen
I am that which can make 2+2=5)
In the movie, the main hero is the “Object” who sings this song to establish his superiority over his rival as they each attempt to kidnap a small boy. (It is a typical Bollywood movie with songs and dance and drama. Must watch!)
Now consider how the meaning of these lines changes as the Object changes…
Imagine first that Quantum Mechanics is saying this: You have not seen me; If you have seen me, you have not recognized me… and so on! It completely changes the feeling behind the lines!
Now imagine the same lines being said by an Enlightened Master: You have not seen me in my full splendor; If you have seen me, you have not recognized my full splendor… and so on! Again, the feeling behind the lines becomes uniquely different!
Press enter or click to view image in full size The Feelings that words invoke change as the Object changes! It is us, individually each one of us, that assign feelings to words that bombard us. Words are simply sounds which move through air as a series of expansion & compression waves. These waves land on the ear drum and the oscillations register in the brain. The mind then interprets these oscillations and a meaning and feeling is assigned to them. Our Mind does this assigning. Each one of us individually.
It would be so nice to have an active, subconscious filter that works on our Mind that assigns the meaning but filters the feelings. With such an active filter, the feelings would not linger in our mind-body complex system and would not ferment and degenerate inside of us and cause us to loose our smile!
Look at children; they do not have the baggage of fermented and degenerated feelings. Notice how much they smile. And then look at adults; adults smile now and then, once in a while!
These degenerated feelings hound us all through our life! They cloud our perception and our expression. Degenerated feelings affect our thoughts and the process continues as explained by Mahatma Gandhi:
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
Our Inner Untapped Potential, trapped by these degenerated feelings, is also crying out… Tune mujhe dekha nahin (You have not seen me yet), Mujhe pehechana nahin (You have not recognized me yet)… Hum woh hein jo do aur do paanch bana de (I am that which can make miracles, 2+2=5, happen!).
It is time we took charge to purge these degenerating feelings and “stuff” that is inside of us and free our unlimited and infinite potential and re-write our destiny.
This reminds me of another song from another “classic” Indian movie Majboor (Helpless):
Aadmi jo keheta hai, Aadmi jo sunata hai, Zindagi bhar woh sadaayein peecha karti hein;
Aadmi jo deta hai, Aadmi jo leta hai, Zindagi bhar woh duaayein peecha karti hein.
Words that a person speaks, Words that a person hears, These words follow the person through life;
Feelings that a person emits, Feelings that a person receives, These feelings follow the person through life.
It is time. To say “ENOUGH! I am not Helpless. I’m done with living with these festering feelings.” Time to take action. NOW.
(Here are some specific actions one can take to purge the degenerated feelings from the subconscious level: Learn to Meditate: Powerful techniques like Sahaj Samadhi Meditation. Learn to harness the power of the breath: Powerful techniques like Sudarshan Kriya Yoga — SKY. Onward and Upward!)
