Signal to Noise: The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali!!
Transcript:
So, how do you measure a signal that is really faint—tiny signal—with an equipment that is very noisy? It's a classical problem. Physicists have solved this problem when they measured gravity waves using LIGO, the Laser Interference Gravity Wave Observatory. The gravity wave signal is tiny, tiny, tiny. Space expands and contracts due to gravity waves by a fraction of the width of a proton. It is tiny. And this signal, to be measured, all the noise has to be eliminated: Electrical noise has to be eliminated. Vibrational noise has to be eliminated. Thermal noise has to be eliminated.
And they did all this. And when they eliminated all the noise, then the signal from the gravity wave was crystal clear. This, physicists did, for the physical world. Now, imagine doing this for the mental world: the process of eliminating noise so that the mental world can perceive the faint signals coming from the Purusha. This journey is the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
