One was the raw ingredients of Upma, and the other one was the finished product of Upma. Remember that? And I show you this many times, maybe three or four times. And then I show you the raw ingredients only. What is the projection? What is the smearing that's going to happen in the next moment? ""Oh, he's making Upma again."" But this time, I'm making Poha. The raw ingredients are the same, but now there is a smearing.

So this is what Vrutti does. When there is Vruttis on the Chitta, it leads to loss of freedom. It leads to bondage. Because the next moment is governed or determined—almost, not determined, influenced—by the previous moment because of the smearing. And this has a cascade effect. Like we saw in the Physics of Pranayama talk: the subconscious affects the conscious mind, and then the conscious mind affects action.

And this is what's happening. The Vruttis are on the level of the subconscious mind, and they affect the conscious mind thought that leads to an action. And that action also leaves an impression on the Chitta again as a Vrutti. So that's the feedback cycle. And this cycle leads to bondage. This bondage is karmic. What is karma?
