Meditation & Placebo!
Transcript:
So, on yesterday's video on meditation, you know, the one where the resonance of the bridge, etc. An interesting comment was received. Here it is. I'm going to leave it out here just for everybody to take a look at it and read it. It's a public comment on a public post, so there's no need to blank out the user handle. Let everybody know. And I looked it up. This kind of mentality that meditation is simply a placebo effect, etc., is prevalent on the internet in some circles. I looked it up. And here's the thing about debunking something: you cannot prove anything by examples. You cannot prove anything by examples because you can always find a counterexample. But to debunk something, all you need is one counterexample. And the biggest counterexample I have to this kind of comment that meditation is simply a placebo effect is myself. When I learnt meditation 20 years ago, I went with exactly this mentality: “Oh, this is all poopa stuff. Nothing ever works.” And I was so wrong. 20 years later, I am now teaching this technique of meditation. It's not a placebo!
