Gurupurnima!

Transcript:

Today is Gurupurnima Day. On Gurupurnima, a spiritual seeker reflects on his or her journey on the path. How much progress has been made? What obstacles have been overcome? What new obstacles have been identified? All of this critical self-analysis is done on Gurupurnima Day.

And the issue happens is when we compare our progress with apparent progress of other people. “Oh, this person is such a senior teacher.” “Oh, this person is seeing so much benefits I am not seeing.” All these kinds of comparisons are highly limiting. Why? Because these comparisons are coming from the origin. You are measuring yourself and others from zero onwards.

But on Gurupurnima Day, the guru is infinity. So, the seeker is reflected into infinity. And when the measurements are done from infinity, everybody is at the same level. You see, there is no such thing as a senior teacher or an advanced practitioner. From infinity, we are all the same. So, the comparison, if at all you have to compare, is only between you and yourself.

Happy Gurupurnima.
